Courts Charter
When you come to the Isle of Man Courts of Justice, you can expect:
- the court building to normally be open by 9am;
- the Court Office/public counter to be open to the public normally from 9am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 4.30pm on Fridays; and
- polite and helpful staff.
When you come to the Court Office/public counter, we will:
- respect your privacy and where possible will discuss any confidential business in private; and
- see you within 10 minutes and if you have to wait longer, a member of staff will explain why.
When you phone the Court Office, you can expect:
- your call to be answered within 45 seconds;
- if you request, to be given the name of the member of staff; and
- the member of staff to be clear and helpful.
When you write to the Court Office with an enquiry, we will:
- acknowledge receipt of your letter and send you a reply within 10 working days; and
- give the name of the member of staff attending to you and a contact telephone number and e-mail address.
